Same Day Loans
Understand application, assessment and transfer timing before you enquire
A same day loan usually describes a loan application that may be reviewed, decided or processed on the day it is submitted. It does not mean instant credit, guaranteed approval or guaranteed access to money that day.
What Does Same Day Really Mean?
The phrase can refer to several different stages. An application may be received on the same day, assessed on the same day, approved on the same day or sent for payment on the same day. These are separate events. A lender sending money does not control when the receiving bank makes it available.
Cash On Your Mobile is a finance broker, not a lender. We can help present an enquiry to a lender from our panel, but we do not make the lender’s credit decision and cannot promise an approval, rate, loan amount or funding time.
Application, Approval and Funding Are Different
1. Online enquiry
You provide details about your identity, income, regular expenses, current debts and the reason for borrowing. An enquiry can be submitted online, including outside normal business hours.
2. Initial review
The information is checked for completeness and may be matched with lender criteria. Missing or inconsistent details can delay the process or mean that more information is needed.
3. Lender assessment
A lender may make reasonable inquiries about your financial situation and requirements, verify information and assess whether the proposed credit is suitable. A quick application does not remove these checks.
4. Decision and documents
If the lender is prepared to make an offer, read the contract, fees, repayment schedule and total amount repayable. You are not required to accept an offer simply because you submitted an enquiry.
5. Transfer
After a contract is accepted and any final requirements are met, an approved lender may initiate payment. Transfer timing can then depend on the lender, the receiving bank, the account details and the payment method.
What Can Affect Processing Time?
- The time and day the application is submitted
- Weekends and public holidays
- Whether your legal name and contact details are accurate
- Whether identity, income and bank information can be verified
- Questions about transactions, expenses or existing commitments
- Requests for additional documents or clarification
- Lender assessment queues and operating hours
- Contract review and acceptance
- The receiving bank and its transfer processing
Submitting an accurate application can reduce avoidable delays, but it cannot create a right to same day assessment or payment.
What If You Apply After Hours?
An online form may be available at any time, but availability does not mean a person or lender is assessing applications at that time. An enquiry made in the evening, on a weekend or on a public holiday may not progress until the next business day. If the expense has a fixed deadline, allow for this uncertainty and contact the service provider early.
Prepare Before You Apply
Use your legal name and current contact details. State your income, expenses and debts accurately. Depending on the lender and product, you may need identification, income evidence, recent bank transaction information and details of existing repayments.
Do not leave out commitments to try to make an application look stronger. Accurate information supports a proper assessment and can prevent delays caused by discrepancies.

Responsible Assessment Still Applies
ASIC explains that responsible lending involves reasonable inquiries about a consumer’s financial situation, requirements and objectives, reasonable steps to verify the financial situation, and an assessment of whether a credit contract is not unsuitable. A lender can decline an application or offer a different amount.
Credit history may be one factor, but it is not the only factor. Income stability, regular expenses, bank transactions, existing debts and the proposed repayment may also be considered. A fast process is not a substitute for affordability.
Same Day Loans and Bad Credit
Having a poor or limited credit history does not guarantee either approval or decline. Different lenders use different criteria. No responsible broker or lender should promise approval before an assessment is completed.
If repayments are already difficult, adding another repayment may make the situation worse. Contacting existing providers about hardship, speaking with a free financial counsellor or checking emergency assistance may be more suitable than taking new credit.
Check the Cost Before Choosing Speed
The fastest option is not necessarily the most suitable or least expensive. Review the amount borrowed, every fee, repayment frequency, contract length and total amount repayable. Check whether the repayments leave enough for rent, food, utilities, transport and other essential expenses.
For a regulated small amount credit contract of up to $2,000 with a term from 16 days to one year, MoneySmart says lenders can generally charge an establishment fee of up to 20 per cent of the amount borrowed and a monthly fee of up to 4 per cent of the amount borrowed. Other products can have different rates, fees and terms. The lender’s contract and disclosures are the source for the actual cost.

Consider Lower Cost Alternatives First
- Ask for a payment arrangement: an energy provider, telco, insurer, landlord, council or other biller may offer extra time or a hardship arrangement.
- Check a Centrelink advance: eligible people may be able to receive part of a future payment early and repay it from later payments.
- Explore No Interest Loans: eligible applicants may be able to access no fee, no interest credit for approved essential goods and services. Funds are generally paid to the supplier, not provided as cash.
- Seek emergency relief: community services may help with food, transport, medicines, utilities or other immediate essentials.
- Speak with a financial counsellor: the National Debt Helpline provides free, independent and confidential help on 1800 007 007.
Availability and eligibility vary. An alternative may take longer, but the lower cost can be important when household cash flow is already tight.
When a Same Day Enquiry May Not Suit
Pause before applying if you are borrowing to repay another short term loan, cannot meet current bills, are unsure how the new repayment will fit your budget or need money for an essential that may be covered by assistance. Free financial counselling can help you review the options without selling you a credit product.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is same day approval guaranteed?
No. An application can be declined, referred for further review or delayed while information is checked. No outcome should be treated as certain before the lender completes its assessment.
Does same day mean instant?
No. Receiving an enquiry, assessing it, making a decision, completing a contract and transferring funds are separate steps.
Can money arrive on the day I apply?
It may happen in some cases, but it is not assured. Submission time, verification, lender processing, acceptance of documents and bank transfer timing can all affect when money becomes available.
Can I apply on a weekend or public holiday?
You may be able to submit an online enquiry, but assessment and payment may wait until business operations resume.
What information may be checked?
A lender may check identity, income, expenses, bank transactions, current debts, credit history and whether the proposed repayments appear affordable.
Will bad credit stop me from applying?
Not necessarily, but approval is never guaranteed. The lender applies its criteria and must complete an assessment. Consider whether another repayment is manageable before proceeding.
How can I reduce avoidable delays?
Provide accurate details, use an account in your legal name, have requested documents ready and respond promptly to questions. This can help, but it does not guarantee timing.
What should I compare in an offer?
Compare the amount advanced, fees, repayments, term, total amount repayable, consequences of missed payments and whether a lower cost alternative is available.
