Online Cash Loans
A guide to applying digitally through a licensed Australian finance broker
An online cash loan enquiry lets you provide information electronically from a phone, tablet or computer instead of attending a branch. The digital format can be convenient, but it does not remove verification, responsible assessment or the need to review costs carefully.
What Makes This an Online Application?
The defining feature is the application channel, not a separate type of credit. Details are entered through a web form, supporting information may be verified electronically and documents may be delivered for digital review and acceptance.
For a broader explanation of amounts, product types, uses and loan costs, visit our Cash Loans guide. This page focuses on the online process, information preparation, privacy and what happens after you press submit.
How an Online Enquiry Works
1. Choose an amount and purpose
Enter what you want to apply for and why it is needed. Request only what appears manageable within your budget rather than selecting an amount simply because it is available on a form.
2. Provide personal and financial details
You may be asked for your legal name, date of birth, residential details, income, normal expenses, existing debts and the bank account used for your regular income.
3. Broker review
Cash On Your Mobile may review the enquiry and identify a panel lender whose criteria appear relevant. This is not an approval and does not mean the lender will make an offer.
4. Lender verification and assessment
The lender may verify identity and financial information, make inquiries about your circumstances and assess whether the proposed credit is suitable.
5. Review any offer
If an offer is made, read the credit contract, fees, repayment dates, total amount repayable and consequences of missed payments before deciding whether to accept it.
Information to Have Ready
- Your full legal name and current residential address
- A working mobile number and email address
- Australian identification requested by the lender
- Employment details or another source of regular income
- Rent, mortgage and normal living expenses
- Current loans, credit cards and other repayments
- Recent bank transaction information where requested
- The reason for borrowing and the amount required
Requirements vary by lender and application. Providing complete and accurate details can reduce avoidable follow up, but it does not guarantee a decision or processing time.

Online Does Not Mean No Checks
Digital forms can reduce paperwork, but the underlying assessment remains important. ASIC says responsible lending involves reasonable inquiries about a consumer’s financial situation, requirements and objectives, reasonable steps to verify the financial situation, and an assessment of whether the credit contract is not unsuitable.
A lender may ask questions about income deposits, recurring expenses, existing repayments or unusual transactions. A request for more information does not mean approval or decline. It usually means the lender cannot complete its assessment from the information already available.
Broker and Lender Roles
| Cash On Your Mobile | Receives the online enquiry as a licensed finance broker and may assist with referral to a panel lender. |
|---|---|
| The lender | Applies its eligibility criteria, verifies information, makes the credit decision and provides any offer and contract. |
| You | Provide accurate information, review privacy notices and disclosures, and decide whether any offer is affordable and suitable for your needs. |
Submitting one enquiry does not create an obligation to accept a lender offer. It also does not create a right to receive credit.
Protect Your Information Online
Loan applications can include personal, identity and financial information. Use the official website, check that the address begins with HTTPS and read the privacy policy before submitting information. Avoid sending identity documents to an unverified social media account or an unexpected email address.
- Use your own trusted phone, tablet or computer where possible
- Keep the device and browser software updated
- Avoid entering sensitive information on public or shared computers
- Check the website address before entering details
- Do not share passwords, banking login credentials or verification codes
- Be cautious if an unexpected message pressures you to act immediately
- Contact the business through details published on its official website if unsure
Cyber.gov.au warns that phishing messages can impersonate trusted organisations to obtain banking details, passwords and verification codes. Stop and verify an unexpected request independently before responding.

Identity and Bank Information
Electronic identity checks may involve details from identification documents. The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner explains that an electronic copy of an identity document is personal information and that organisations covered by the Privacy Act must follow the Australian Privacy Principles when collecting it.
A lender may also request bank transaction information to help verify income, expenses and commitments. Read the consent and privacy information presented during the process. If you do not understand what access is being requested, pause and ask before continuing.
Using a Mobile Phone to Apply
A suitable mobile browser can be used to complete the enquiry. Before starting, make sure the battery is charged, the internet connection is reliable and requested documents are available. Enter details carefully rather than relying on autofill for important financial information.
If the form times out or your connection drops, check whether the information was saved before starting again. Avoid submitting several fresh applications because a confirmation screen was delayed. Contact the broker through the official website if you are unsure whether the enquiry was received.
What Happens After Submission?
You may receive a confirmation and a request for additional information. Monitor the contact details you supplied, but examine messages carefully before opening links or attachments. A genuine request for clarification is still part of the assessment and does not mean that credit has been approved.
If a lender makes an offer, take time to read it. Online delivery can make documents arrive quickly, but speed should not replace checking the repayment amount, dates, fees, term and total amount repayable.
How Long Does an Online Application Take?
The form itself may be completed quickly when the required information is available. Assessment and transfer are separate stages. Timing can depend on application completeness, verification, lender operating hours, requests for documents, weekends, public holidays and bank processing.
Terms such as online, quick, instant or same day do not guarantee approval or a particular transfer time. For more detail, read our Same Day Loans timing guide.
Check the Cost, Not Just Convenience
Online access does not make a loan less expensive. Compare the amount received with every establishment, monthly or other fee, the repayment frequency and the full amount repayable. The actual cost depends on the product and contract.
MoneySmart says a regulated small amount loan of up to $2,000 with a term from 16 days to one year can carry an establishment fee of up to 20 per cent of the amount borrowed and a monthly fee of up to 4 per cent. Other products can have different rates, fees and terms.

Warning Signs to Avoid
- Guaranteed approval before your circumstances are assessed
- A request to pay an upfront fee using gift cards or cryptocurrency
- Pressure to disclose banking passwords or security codes
- A website address that imitates a known business but is slightly different
- Unexpected contact asking you to move the conversation to social media
- No clear business identity, licence information, privacy policy or contact details
If you believe you have received a scam message, use official Scamwatch or cyber.gov.au guidance. If account details may have been compromised, contact your financial institution promptly through its official contact channel.
